October Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop - Haunted Halloween

Hello and welcome to the Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop - this month's theme is Haunted Halloween.

Halloween is not really that big here in Australia but it's still fun to make Halloween cards and treat gift ideas.

Fortunately, I have some sets that came in handy for this fun theme. I have combined a few goodies from the annual catalogue to create a treat bag and a 3D Haunted House that can be used both as a display and hold lollies or chocolates inside.

The sets I have used are, Mini Treat Bag thinlits, Home Sweet Home stamps and coordinating dies, Glamper Greetings as well as the Wood Textures dsp stack.

Whisper White cardstock used for the mini treat bag and have applied an ink blended background using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry inks, a lot of elbow grease required to get a seamless ink blending but well worth the effort hehe. I then spritz a solution of bleach and water over the top to get those random white splatters for interest and texture.

The Haunted House on the mini treat bag has been created by using the Home Sweet Home dies to cut out the front shape, windows and door. The stripes have been stamped and clear heat emboss to give a raised tone on tone effect. The roof has also been stamped in black and clear heat embossed to give it added raise and shine. The haunted house has then been cut out and adhered on and allows the ink blended background to show through from the windows and doors.

The ghost has been stamped on vellum, white heat embossed and die cut using the coordinating Home Sweet Home dies. Love how you can add him coming out from either the window or door for some fun and matches the sentiment so well.

The sentiment is from Glamper Greetings, and white heat embossed to tie in with the splatters in the background and three bats added that have been die cut out using the Home Sweet Home dies.

This is the back of the the mini treat bag, show more of the ink blended distress background.

The 3D haunted house was a lot of fun to make using the Wood Textures dsp stack for instant texture and suited the house perfectly. Love the weathered and aged look of this wood grain pattern truly complimenting the feel of the dilapidated haunted house.

Both sides of the patterned paper used made the most of each piece by using the darker grain (reverse side) for the roof, window and door paneling to make them stand out.

The banner on top has been coloured in with alcohol markers to tie in with the ink blended background and mounted on with foam dimensionals.

All the sets used work so well together and can be used for many other occasions and love their versatility and endless creativity. These will definitely be kept for display purposes but you could simplify the designs by using a printed designer paper for mass production of the mini treat bags and decorate and embellish as desired.

We have some new members joining our Design team, and they are the wonderful and talented Jay Soriano and Stesha Bloodhart. We're so lucky to have them both in the team and welcome Jay and Stesha! I can't to see what they have both created, I'm sure it will be out of this world and truly amazing! Be sure to check out the rest of the Creative Circle's  team by following the list of names below. 2. Very nice idea. The little house is lugubrious and the bag of candy contrasts with its bright colors: it is very successful.

  4. Wow, your sponging is immaculate! The treat bag is truly eye catching, I never would’ve thought to use Rich Razzleberry with the other 2 colours ~ Jay
